Summer Love – Completing Him Challenge Week 3

Well, to say that I am late in posting this is an understatement, and even though you probably can imagine a million reasons why that is the case, it is not due to a child, illness, or work schedule. There was a few moments when I thought I would destroy the scanner but it survived. It is because I wasn’t sure I was going to blog this week’s challenge at all. And then we went out of town, then did some shopping, then a free baseball game, the scanner…

June 28 – Ask your husband every morning how you can pray for him that day. Bonus: Fast and pray for him one day this week.

Now, don’t get me wrong, it isn’t that I didn’t want to DO this challenge (okay, except the fasting part…I need to learn more about doing that…I mean, I can barely go four hours without food?!) The real reason was because that this is so personal. I kept thinking of all the things I am praying for him right now…and how they are none of the world’s business. I thought of what a private kind of guy he is, how he would never write a blog and share his prayer requests. I decided that it would actually be disrespectful of me to do that very thing! And you know what the funny thing is? My tendency to overthink things evaluate before I act led me to praying for him even more than normal. So, after considering this week’s challenge, I decided that while I could pray for him every day this week regarding the things in our life right now, what I could share with you were some of the times I’ve prayed for him before.

Like when we got married

And when we became parents…

Again (not quite) 13 months later…

Then when the Air Force sent him to Korea for a year…

And 7 months later when they sent him to Iraq…

Now that we have teenagers…

And for our future when they are grown and gone…
