Good Morning Girls!
At the end of August as I was
counting down the days to graduation working diligently on my last two courses, I came across the info for Good Morning Girls. I had begun enjoying my Daily Quiet Time more regularly through the summer and knew this would be a great way to hold myself accountable. The idea is simple: participate in a small group with women using some sort of electronic media (Facebook, Twitter, email) to say Good Morning Girls! and sharing something from your time with God that day.
You can sign up on the website to be put in a small group if you don’t have one, but I thought I would be more likely to actually follow through if I was the one who asked some friends to join me. This nomadic lifestyle we like to call the Military meant I had some women all over the world who might want to join me in being accountable, so the word went out.
Our group has members from Germany to California and only two of us are within driving distance of each other, but I have already been SO blessed and we are just two weeks into our comittment. When Good Morning Girls began, I started attending a study at our church by Beth Moore called Living Beyond Yourself: Exploring the Fruit of the Spirit. We have only had an introduction and one session together so far but I couldn’t begin to list everything I’ve already learned in that short time. Here are some of the ones that really stand out.
1. The Bible says there is FRUIT (one) of the spirit. We get it all, not just love or just patience. Galatians 5:22
2. I don’t have to rely on my energy to get through hard days, or any day for that matter. Colossians 1:29
3. No matter what is going on in life (no idea where I’ll be living in a few months, a house on the market that isn’t selling), I can call on Him for refuge. Psalm 62:8
How do you decide what to study in the Word each day and keep that time a priority?
