Tumwater Falls State Park

What better topic to follow up our move than a little sightseeing? Yesterday we drove to Tumwater Falls State Park. The website says, “the Deschutes River ends its journey from the shoulders of the Cascade range to tumble a final 82 feet into Capitol Lake.” This made me think we would be able to see an 82 foot waterfall.

It actually takes that drop over the course of several shorter falls, alongside which there are paths and overlooks.

There is also a fishery on site and fish ladders were installed to help chinook salmon use the otherwise impassable waters during their fall run.

Ultimately, it was just a (mostly) sunny afternoon with my entire family, some smiles and fun with my camera.

What have you done lately to enjoy spring?

Lovely! You are really making me miss home. :) The only thing I’ve done to enjoy Spring is to take some photos of the gorgeous PINK PINK POOF tree in our front yard. :) It’s been raining and cloudy so much here, I want some SUNSHINE! And then as soon as summer comes I’ll be complaining about the dang humidity–which you won’t have to worry about this summer, lucky! ;)

We haven’t been to any state parks this year yet but we plan to soon. Hoping to hit Yosemite here in the next month or two. Happy to see you all are exploring your world. Always makes for fun stories and memories.
