Church floors have seen my shoes from Mary Jane’s to High Heels. My hands have carried the Word into worship services, Sunday School and Ladies’ Retreats. This year, I read the entire Bible over the course of a few months.
To say that I have taken my share of Bible studies is an understatment.
One day spent in my company would quickly reveal how many of those lessons fell onto rocky soil. Recently I have begun to wonder how I can apply God’s Word more than how many books I can read about God’s Word. Yet I believe that these studies can serve as a form of mentorship: authors who have a personal relationship with Christ, can share their understanding with me. My favorite study was one I went through last fall with a women’s group.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
The greatness of this study was not just gaining a greater understanding of how God has given me these qualities to express, but in the fact that I still work to apply what I learned all these months later.
What is your favorite Bible study (yes, just one!)? Why?

My favorite Bible study would be Jeff Cavins’ The Great Adventure – I learned so much from this study. I listened to it on 24 CDs, but you can also watch it on DVDs. I learned more about the Bible and had a lot of fun doing it. Anything by Jeff Cavins is a winner!
