Project Time

How are your Summer Plans coming along? One of my goals was to tackle items I put on my 52 Week List. What is a 52 Week List?

“Create a list of 52 organizing projects or habits that need to be done or developed around your home‚Ķdressers, drawers, closet, toys, paper, you name it.”

Then, you pick one each week and get things done. I can make lists all day long but I love a challenge to finish them.

1. Kitchen Gadgets – We love our new place in the Pacific Northwest but the kitchen is definitely smaller than what we had previously. In fact, there are only two drawers. Add to that limited counter space and I needed to re-evaluate my gadget stash. I did a lot of purging but I will keep those items for a few weeks just to make sure we don’t need them. There is a small crock on the counter with a wooden spoon, a spatula, a wisk, etc. I kept less than half of what we had before and no longer need the second counter-top tool caddy. I had the dividers already, so this project only took time (about 10 minutes).

2. Pantry Door – One thing I love about Pinterest is the that I can actually put ideas from the website into use at home. Like the over-the-door shoe bag for storage.

While I love finally having a dedicated pantry, its wire shelving means small things fall easily. This was a great solution for about $8 at Target. I recommend verifying the product will be clear, not just translucent unless you like the effect.

Do you have a project you have completed this summer that helped you become better organized?
