If there is one thing in life with which I have a love-hate relationship, it is plastic drawer systems.
SkipperClan just has a hate relationship with them.
Why on earth am I blogging about them? Well, I got a steal of a deal on Craigslist this week when I scored an IKEA Expedit bookcase for $20. I hoped we would be able to use it in SkipperClanJr’s room, but it just won’t fit.
That means it is time to tackle the serious decluttering and organizing of my office that has been needed for the last…well, six years!
In 8 days, my best friend will be here for a visit-YAY! That means I have the deadline that is critical for me to actually finish a project like this. I thought I would share this project because I think we all have ‘that space’ that just never seems to get or stay organized. Hopefully there will be some tips you can use, even if you don’t have an office. So come back next week for the finished project.
So that takes me back to the topic of this post: storage drawers. Love ‘em? Hate ‘em? Where do you use them? If you have them showcased on your blog, share a link.

I have the set in your top photo and two of the little ones on tp of your new bookcase. I was actually just thinking today how I need to get rid of them and find a better system. I use the tall set for school stuff. The others I use for organizing sewing supplies. I would like to get a nice, big armoire for all of my sewing supplies, fabrics, machinrs, etc…
I so ♥ that bookcase!
Plastic storage drawers? For me, not really. Pretty much plastic storage anything doesn’t work for me simply because I don’t have a place to put them that isn’t visible in most of the house. And I certainly haven’t found anything plastic that looks great enough to put on display, lol.
That bookcase? I can see maybe two or three baskets to contain less visually pleasing items, books, a momento here or there. Yes, it should work very well!
I have a ton of plastic storage drawers because they are a cheap option when we were moving around all the time and I was trying to fit stuff into different places. That said, I’m trying to get rid of most of it. I’m going to keep the smaller drawers and bins that fit underneath our sinks (in cabinets) because they are so nice to keep bathroom stuff organized. And I have a lot in the basement in my craft area and in our storage area/pantry overflow. I’d love to transfer over all the craft storage but it’s a slow process.
Hate them. Hate. But I have a set in our school room. I would LOVE to score a bookshelf like that! WOW. Awesome deal!
