Have you ever stopped and thought about how different the direction your life could have taken if it had all gone “according to plan?” Maybe you don’t try to plan quite as much as I do, but I’m sure you can still think of a few decisions that were instrumental in bringing you to where you are today.
I told myself I would never marry a man in the military.
I would never have children before I finished my college degree.
I would never be a stay-at-home mom.
Fortunately, God knew some of the desires of my heart better than I did.
I longed to see new and different places.
I believed people make a bigger difference to the world than my education level.
I held skills and abilities in homemaking from childhood in a single parent home.
Delight yourself in the LORD;
And He will give you the desires of your heart.
Commit your way to the LORD,
Trust also in Him, and He will do it.
What I still had to learn, what I continue to learn, is that the more I trust Him, the more I commit my decisions to the guidance of His Word, the more He will fulfill the desires of my heart because they will be in alignment with His.
