Gratitude for the Greatest Gift of All

This month I have endeavored to share with you the many facets of my life for which I am grateful. Ultimately, I could have done that in a journal, but I hoped that by sharing you might recognize the blessings in your own life.

My husband, children and friends
My home, favorite food and church
My work, travel and the things that never came to be

None of these are as great a gift as the gift of my faith.

My faith is not the rituals I perform in service. It is not the rules I follow {or more often, the ones I break}. It is not even about having all the answers. Oh how I would love to submit a list of questions and have Him respond directly!

My faith is not those things, it is a relationship. A relationship with the God who created me, you, everything. He gave us a choice so that our relationship would be real, not that of a mindless robot. Unfortunately, we made the wrong choice (originally Adam and Eve, but the same is true of each of us). He still wanted me though. Even when I was interested in getting what I wanted more than what He wanted for me. {Romans 5:8} That reconciliation was made possible through the perfect life of Jesus who gave his life in place of mine. {Romans 5:10} Sacrifice was the only way my debt could be paid. I could never sacrifice enough. Never do enough.

My faith is in Jesus as my payment. My faith is in the Creator, the one who provides strength to that faith. My faith is in knowing that He is enough.

Do you have questions for me? Have you ever wondered what it would mean to have a personal relationship with God? I would love to answer your questions. If you want more info, please check out NeedHim.org or contact me.

If you already have a relationship with God, have you spent time thanking Him for the gift you’ve received?
