Creative Giving Challenge: Photo Canvas

I am hoping lots of you have completed projects to share with us today but even if you didn’t I am still excited about today’s post because of one big reason:

I have said many times I would make gifts throughout the year for Christmas, but this year I’m actually doing it.

I am holding myself accountable to the goal with this challenge.

I started with some Pinterest inspiration and generally followed Steph’s instructions.

I started with a few supplies including a two pack of 8×10 canvas for $5.

Then painted the edges of the canvas with paint to match one of the colors from my photos.

While they dried, I trimmed the pictures {8×10 images on 8.5×11 photo paper}.

I applied a layer of modge podge under the photos, followed by a couple of layers on top.

When I make these as gifts, I’m going to use thinner layers to avoid tearing the photos. It was helpful using parchment paper to prevent the projects from sticking to the surfaces during drying and to help remove air bubbles in the paper.

Finally, I hung them on my stairs where I am slowly but surely creating a gallery wall.

Now it’s your turn! Have you created something this year that would make a great gift? Grab the Creative Giving Challenge Button from the sidebar and linkup. Let’s inspire each other this year.
