This week I made progress on my goals by fitting small action steps into small pockets of time throughout the week. Each day I tackled the challenging tasks as early as possible. When Kit-Kat and I returned home after her first day at school, we enjoyed tea together and began reading 50 Things Every Young Lady Should Know together. This is the first year she has us to herself and we want to be intentional in preparing her for adulthood. I’m looking forward to putting the ideas into practice with her each week.
This might be as simple as a daytrip to the local amusement park or as complex as a Labor Day Weekend getaway, but I’d like to see our little family have one more memorable adventure before summer’s unofficial end on September 2.
Right now I am just praying we get a day to attempt this goal. Between the demands of our traditional jobs, doctors appointments, and school schedules – I’m losing faith.
There are four categories of a quarterly challenge for me to complete for my business. There are a variety of business activities I’ll be tracking including number of appointments, types of products delivered, and team member goals. I am working to complete all four, but two is the absolute minimum.
I’ve booked two new appointments this week and completed every daily challenge given by my local mentor. We also had a fun Skype training session Monday night. I love that technology allows me to stay connected with my Director, Team Members, and Clients.
With our oldest beginning college and only our daughter at home for her Senior Year, we’ve had several major changes to our expenses. Combine those changes with our goal to have SkipperClan retire from the Air Force around the end of 2014 and we have several financial matters to review. We’ll be updating our budget and scheduling some classes available to us for retirement planning.
Not only did I sketch out a new budget, but I think I’ve come up with a better way to keep it convenient for updates. I accidentally double-paid the water bill last month and would’ve much rather had the money go to the electric bill. We have already had some unexpected expenses already this month, but it is so much less stressful when we have a plan.
What new habit would you like to instill during August?
