Simple Jewelry Hanger {Creative Project #2}

At the beginning of the year, I set two goals that seem to conflict with each other: first was our goal to become debt free and second was a goal to complete a creative project each month. Topping off the challenge, I decided to have a no spend month in February.

I went to Pinterest for my inspiration and found an idea I’ve had saved for years: a simple jewelry hanger. Since I have no fewer than 200 pieces of jewelry from prizes, gifts, and clearance deals, this was the perfect project for February. I am a little focused on the fact that my hanger has a silver hook and my cuphooks are a gold finish – but sometimes a girl just has to use what she has on hand for f.r.e.e. Now I have a simple jewelry hanger that cost me nothing more than the time to watch one episode of Fixer Upper. {hands down, my favorite show right now}

I started with a broken hanger and the cuphooks. I simply tapped a small hole for each hook and twisted them into place. Once they got too tight to twist by hand, I used a pair of needle-nose pliers. Then I just hung up a few of those trendy, chunky necklaces and slipped it into my closet. The more hooks and necklaces you use, the more balanced it will stay even when you remove a necklace to wear.
